How Many Dudes? Full-Release Starter Checklist

Direct answer: for a first full-release run, learn what each Dude scales with, keep the Relic pool focused, protect the team from single-hit knockouts, save cash for later purchases, and plan for the Tier 1 G.O.A.T. encounter instead of optimizing only for early rounds.

Evidence boundary: this is an orientation checklist based on the developer’s full-release guide, verified on 2 August 2026. It is not a firsthand “best build” or tier list. Exact team recommendations remain unverified until documented full-release runs are complete.

  1. Read abilities and stats in the UI. The developer says most interface terms are clickable and the Dudex is the built-in glossary. Use it to understand which stats actually affect each Dude.
  2. Choose a job for each Dude. The official material describes offensive, defensive, and command roles. Avoid assuming a Dude is weak before checking the ability, useful stats, Relics, teammates, and possible Trinket role.
  3. Decide whether a narrow Relic pool matters. Posting a Flyer adds that Dude’s Relics and the relevant family Relics to the pool. More families increase variety but can reduce the chance of seeing one specific Relic.
  1. Spend Dude Juice deliberately. Unconscious Dudes recover after a few rounds, while using or buying Juice consumes resources. Continue only when the reduced team can safely handle the next fight; otherwise recover now rather than risk a collapse.
  2. Balance saving against survival. The developer guide identifies Business Dude investment as a way to multiply saved cash, but also warns that under-buying early can leave the team too weak. Treat this as an economy decision, not a guaranteed line.
  3. Prioritize reliable protection from large hits. Max HP, Toughness, Temporary Health, and “Cheat Death” effects are described as protection against one-shots. Evasion, Deflection, and Block remain useful but are probabilistic.
  4. Keep Consumables as recovery tools. Official examples include crowd control, repositioning, healing, and Temporary Health. The right use depends on what the current fight threatens; no one consumable is presented here as universally best.

The developer guide identifies the Tier 1 G.O.A.T. at round 105 as the first Gold Star goal. Its documented pressure points are high health, burst damage, rapid movement, and many Ram minions. Before the encounter, check for:

  • a way to survive large hits;
  • enough movement to avoid spending the fight chasing the boss;
  • enough damage and control to avoid being overwhelmed by the accompanying enemies;
  • a recovery option if one or more Dudes are knocked out in the rounds before the boss.

These are requirements to cover, not a claimed optimal roster.
