About the How Many Dudes Wiki
How Many Dudes Wiki is an independent English-language reference for players of the July 2026 full release. It is designed around complete answers, visible evidence, entity relationships, and version labels—not page count or claims that every fact was personally tested.
Editorial rules
Section titled “Editorial rules”- Primary sources establish facts. Official pages, the official Dudex, store listings, patch notes, and current-game observations are the preferred evidence for definitions and release state.
- Community evidence is attributable. Public videos, complete runs, discussions, and guides can support
Reportedbuilds or strategies when their source, date, version, conditions, outcome, and conflicts are visible. - Uncertainty stays visible. A claim is labeled Verified, Reported, Derived, or Unknown. Unknown details are not quietly filled with guesses, and community consensus does not become Verified merely through repetition.
- Legacy builds stay separate. The January 2026 browser build is not evidence for a full-release strategy unless a current source establishes that the behavior still applies.
- No thin database copies. A Dude, Relic, or Trinket gets a dedicated page only when it adds at least three meaningful differentiators or equivalent useful value beyond the official Dudex.
- Corrections are versioned. Volatile pages record a checked date and should be reverified after balance, content, or Dudex changes.
Current scope
Section titled “Current scope”The current wiki covers an owner-played Act 1 route, a Lich/Thrall community synthesis, starting strategy, cross-platform saves, platforms and Steam Deck, the Relic pool, game modes and Challenge Tiers, and a release-facts reference. Build and tier pages may use multi-source community evidence with explicit attribution; only “tested by this site” claims require this site’s own documented runs.
Gameplay screenshots
Section titled “Gameplay screenshots”Gameplay screenshots are captured by the site owner and used selectively where they prove a decision, UI state, item name, or route milestone. Images are resized and compressed for the guide, receive explanatory alt text and captions, and are reviewed for account details, private chat, codes, and unrelated personal information. A screenshot of a choice does not automatically prove the later combat result.
Ownership and affiliation
Section titled “Ownership and affiliation”This guide is independently operated and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Butterscotch Shenanigans. It uses an original text-and-shapes identity, does not redistribute game binaries or extracted game art, and uses limited owner-captured gameplay screenshots for criticism, commentary, and instruction.
